The Renaissance palace

Davanti a voi è il palazzetto fatto costruire nel cortile del soccorso da Girolamo e Caterina. L’hanno immaginato come loro residenza in Rocca, per questo ha forme molto diverse da quelle del resto della fortezza: è un elegante palazzo rinascimentale. Nelle intenzioni doveva essere più grande, per ospitare la corte. Ma dopo il 1484, i cambiamenti politici, diplomatici ed economici, hanno fatto sì che la costruzione non venisse terminata.

In front of you there is the small palace, built in the rescue yard by Girolamo and Caterina. They imagined it as their residence in the Stronghold, for this reason it is shaped differently from the rest of the fortress: it is an elegant renaissance palace. It was supposed to be much bigger, to welcome the court. But, after 1484, the political, diplomatic and financial changes impacted the construction, which was not completed.
